It’s early days, but it’s already clear that the Coronavirus is going to change the way we live for the foreseeable future.
As reported in yesterday’s Guernsey Press, the community has been quick to come together to offer support to those who need it, including older Islanders and the socially isolated. The Foundation will do what it can to promote these initiatives, and would encourage charities and community groups to get in touch via firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like us to disseminate information via social media and our website.
With events being cancelled and social gatherings put on hold, we recognise that many of the Island’s charities face an interruption to their fundraising activities. This loss of income comes at a time when, in many cases, demand for services is about to increase as a result of the potential spread of covid 19, and when organisations are introducing new services in response to evolving needs.
Please remember that the Foundation’s Grants Programme operates all year round. We can fast-track applications relating to funding for services that are in particular demand because of the pandemic.
You can now apply online via our website, https://foundation.gg/grants-strategic, but please get in touch if you’d like to talk about your situation beforehand, as there may be additional ways we can help.
