Pargiter Trust: Now Accepting Applications

The Guernsey Community Foundation is delighted to announce that it is inviting applications to grant funding from the Pargiter Trust. The Pargiter Trust dispenses grants to charity and community organisations which run projects which benefit older people.

Since 2014, the UK-based charitable trust has given the Foundation £50,000 a year to award to local charities that help people aged 65 and above to live independently, stay healthy, and feel socially included.  Over £170,000 has been distributed in the Bailiwick from Pargiter since 2014 across a number of local causes.

Charities wishing to apply for funding have until Friday 26th   July to submit an application form to the Foundation.

Jim Roberts, Chief Executive of the Guernsey Community Foundation, said: “The Pargiter Trust continues to provide invaluable funding support to initiatives benefitting people over 65 in the Bailiwick.

Earlier this year the Community Foundation oversaw a very successful round of applications to the Pargiter Trust, covering a broad range of worthy local projects. These projects have been as diverse as using art classes to promote wellbeing and inclusion, a social history project about the Occupation and renovating buildings which host crucial activities and services for elderly islanders, to make them more accessible.

Grants are awarded in support of work which improves the health and wellbeing of older people. T. Grants can be used to fund existing services or new initiatives, or to meet capital costs such as the purchase of new equipment or payments towards salaries where roles specifically benefit islanders over 65. We consider applications from organisations that support carers of older people, and from professionals working in this field.”

Application forms are available to download from the Foundation’s website – – and may be completed by hand or electronically.
