Paddy Whitford

Born in Paisley, Scotland, raised in Zambia and after spending some years in Australia, where she obtained a Fine Arts Diploma at Claremont School of Art, Perth, Western Australia (since absorbed into WA university system), Paddy moved to Guernsey in 1976.  Her career in finance began with the establishment of Horlock & Co., Chartered Accountants, in 1976.   In 1985, this became the Charter Group Companies, of which, as a director and shareholder, she acted as a trustee and director of a number of private investment and property entities.     

In 2012, the Charter Group merged with the Fort Group, and Paddy joined Fort Group as a Director and shareholder. Both the Charter Group and the Fort Group were and are licensed and regulated by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission.

Paddy acts as director and trustee of a diverse portfolio of high-value structures holding investments, chattels, and properties. She will retire at the end of 2024 and hopes to contribute her 47 years of experience in the Guernsey finance industry to charities such as the John Ramplin Charitable Trust.  

Paddy has been a member of Rotary Guernesiais for many years and has served as both Secretary and President. She has supported various other local organisations and charities and attends the Town Church. She has two adult daughters and five grandchildren, all of whom reside in London.
